That is so familiar. My eldest cat Tia (19 yrs in May '06)is the boss & can occupy the huge dog beds & the dogs whine nearby. They daren't lie down with her but will allow her to get onto the bed if they're already in it.
We have a particularly tiny grey cat who never got bigger than a kitten (7 lbs on a good day), and now I have a terrific longing to finally get my own Airedale so our cat can play bitey-face with it. Even though our cat has very few teeth left in her tiny head!
